Dakine offers different gloves and mittens depending on the weather conditions. The heat index gives a heat comparison between the different models. Gloves and mittens are rated on a scale of 1 to 5 depending on the degree of insulation and lining materials. Models with a heat rating of 1 are designed for milder weather conditions or less chilly riders. At the other end of the rating scale are gloves and mittens with a rating of 5. These are the warmest models for the harshest weather conditions, or for riders looking for the most warmth possible.
